What is HAMs in the Park?
LMARS and OARC have teamed up to organize a gathering that is typically monthly and held at a local park. This gathering of Amateur Radio Operators is what we call "HAMs in the Park". We'll operate from various local parks. We enjoy fun, fellowship, and learning! While the gatherings are not typically at a Parks on the Air (POTA) park, once in a while we do pick a POTA park and we operate as a POTA station. If your not sure how to operate as a POTA activator we will help you and show you how.
- If you have gear, bring it. Radios, antennas, Go-Kits, Satellite gear, whatever you have. If you have a popup canopy, bring it, you may want it to block the son. We will spread apart so we do not interfere with each other.
- If you're new and don't have gear, or if you do not have much experience that is OK. We will share our equipment and our knowledge with you. It's all about learning and having Fun.
We look forward to seeing you there.
